We exist to help every person encounter Jesus Christ and experience His presence, to engage in authentic relationships and be equipped and empowered for effective ministry.

 

This mission statement is based upon two scriptures, the “Great Commandment” (Matt. 22:37-40) and the “Great Commission” (Matt. 28:18-20)

 

The Word of God encourages those with wealth in 1 Timothy 6:17-19, which says – “Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.” NASB

 

At SGIM we believe we are called to show God’s love and serve people who need HOPE and spiritual renewal. 1 Peter 1:3-4 states – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to OBTAIN an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.” NASB

We have been given a unique opportunity to share the gospel within a public high school. The Lord has put it on our hearts to rebuild a basketball court as a way to show our commitment to this school and community. By building upon this relationship with the students and staff, we can be effective in showing God's love in a tangible way to the community.
